Overall, this is a good addition to my VR Experience, but I think it needs a little extra attention from FormX and Mighty Coconut for an outstanding user experience. They miss this mark slightly on the sale/website, on the shipping, and on the product. This is definitely the best accessory available for this game... but I just feel like it could be done a little better.
What I like:
*Overall look and feel is excellent. It actually does feel like you are putting. 5 stars for that.
*Quality -The golf club/controller feels like it is quality made, and for $60 it needs to have a premium feel to it. The packaging is a nice touch, it is in color, and feels like something you should keep.
*In Game Setup - It is very easy, with the pre-installed "Check box" that you use. The only thing you have to do, is change your degrees down to 14 or 15 from the preset 25. I like the little wrist band you get when using it, but once again, it shows the Grip-to-Putter 3 colors, not the Grip-to-Putter 4. Not a big deal, but as you will see below, this seems like a pattern, and it is just lazy.
*Gameplay/Accuracy - after playing just 5-6 rounds of putt putt, on WMG, I am actually more accurate in my putting than with the controller alone.
What I don't like:
*Website/Ordering process - I found this accessory by going through Mighty Coconut's site, and they still show the Grip-to-Putter 3, and it says it's ready to "ship in March." Well, it's August 2026 now. Does that mean March 2027 or March 2025? Then it is confusing when you suddenly get to FormX and they have the Grip-to-Putter 4. It seems it would only take a phone call and an hour to fix this. It also took them 8 days to ship this to me. In the world of Amazon and 2 day shipping this feels like forever. After writing to them and requesting to know when it will ship, I suddenly got the shipping notification. Who knows how long it would have taken if I didn't write.
*Once it did ship, I got an email showing me how to use it. These were good, but nothing about the adjustment of the degrees, and the videos still showed the Grip-to-Putter 3, which again, seems lazy.
*Navigating the game using this tool is awkward, and definitely detracts from it's useability. I'm not an engineer, so I don't have a solution to this problem, but you do need to use the controller quite a bit while in game, and having it a yard away at the end of a pole is awkward, and doesn't work well. To me at minimum, you should also have the trigger button available from the handle. Maybe a way to detach the controller and reattach it easily (by feel, because you cannot see it with a headset on) so that after your shot you can grab the controller to navigate.
*I will say that it is nice that you can move the Grip-To-Putt trigger around on the club. It was in the wrong position (under my thumb) as the default, but I was able to move it over to the left side of the grip so that I can squeeze with my middle finger instead. However, the club isn't designed for this. By moving it, the wire tightens too easily causing it to press the grip button when I don't want it to. If there was 1/2 inch more wire to work with, it would have been perfect.
